Great Massinghan; 10 miles east of Kings Lynn. this is a former WW2 airfield, first time I have been here.

This is the aircraft we flew in, plus a couple extra horse power .

This is the village of Great Massingham.

More important is the pub, The Dabbling Duck, I'm glad I booked a table before we left from Cambridge, as by the time we arrived, nearly all the tables were taken.

This was their version of bread and butter whilst waiting fot the meal, that did not take long.

Main meal, thick chunks of beef that melted in the mouth, yorkshire pud and proper sized vegetables, tasty.

Desert; Queen of puddings, I have not had this in decades, yummy.

Defeated; very nice, I tried but I could not manage another mouthfull of this excellent meal.

Vanessa and the Spitfire; whilst we were waiting to fly to Elvington, this Spitfire turned up and parked next to us, fortunatly the club owner knew the pilot and we were allowed to climb up onto this magnificant example.

Flying near Skegness, six of us in two aircraft went there for a few hours; the landing field is in the midsts of a caravan park.

Summer arriving at last? Blink too long and you'll miss it.

A fly basking in the dying rays of the evening sun. Or a green coloured fly sticking out like a sore thumb against the white flowers.

This is the resturant at Sywell airfield, I recommend the food, as you can see it is in the art deco style, with an aviation theme, I landed there a week ago .

Sunset over the Earith at  about 2000 feet

This is the first picture/blog from around Cambridgeshire. Part of flying is remaining current, at least once every 28 days I go up into the air. This time I am with a fellow pilot; I flew out from Cambridge Airport, to land at Duxford via Grafham Water; my colleague flew back to Cambridge, via the Earith floods.
